The Impending Crisis

Climate change is beginning to explicitly express itself and in coming times it's brute force, region of influence and associated vulnerabilities will go on increasing. Indian monsoon is witnessing changes in its propagation path, amount of diurnal, spatial & temporal precipitation resulting in unpredictability in agriculture and hence affecting food resilience and overall inflation.

It's time we materialize life style for environment because it's beginning to become too late to effectively act.

The Impending Catastrophe: Water Crisis

 Rain in all its multifarious forms engender podium where biotic and abiotic factors of an ecosystem freshen themselves to exhibit theirs natural beauty.

Myriad problems encountered by humanity today are mostly the consequence of our own mismanagement and apathy. Consider for example the impending water crisis around the globe is purely the man made blunder.

Over-exploitation of ground water resources, encroachment of wetlands, poorly conceived sewer treatment plans, irrational urbanization and lack of town planning, altering the natural flow of rivers and above all rampant deforestation. All these has resulted in man manufactured water crisis. Be it prevalence of water borne diseases, rising psychological disorders, amounting insecurity among citizenry; all these are in some way related to inadequate access to safe drinking water.

According to UN data around 700 million people in 43 countries are facing water scarcity. In India cities like Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, etc are facing water stressed situation. Still those having access to already depleting fresh water resources are hardly aware of such alarming situation and rarely ponder over checking it’s wastage.

The need of the hour is to give sincere thought to SDG 6 of UN 2030 goals. Integrated approach from community participation to governance reforms to sustainable lifestyle is required to achieve tangible results.
